Straight to the Heart: Hear It on Sunday, Use It on Monday

Monday May 16, 2011

Her story was painful, even without all the details. You could hear the anguish that resulted from the disappointment, disapproval, and rejection she endured every day.

She tried, but she couldn’t let go of it.

“I believed more in the pain of my past than in His power to love me unconditionally,” she said.

How often do I do that – believe more in me, in what I want to hold onto, than in Him and His power?

But the good times and bad, the hard and the easy – none is wasted by a Father who loves us through it all.

All those cracks, all that brokenness?

They form the perfect path in.
And His love goes straight to the heart.

I'm so glad my mess doesn't freak Him out!

Laura, I love that. the cracks are where His love comes in. Hard, but beautiful lesson.

So true. God's love is unconditional and I always put a condition on it.

I am popping over from Gg - Notes on the Journey to say thanks from the bottom of my heart for your recent support during my dad's open heart surgery. He is doing so well.

Over 60 comments with prayers and well wishes, including yours. Such sweetness. It helped me not feel quite so alone, having recently moved to Chicago.

Fondly,
Glenda

I love the simplicity of this post, Laura. You get straight to the point, and it's one I need to hear again and again.

So grateful for your friendship...you know that, right?!

Many times, it is only through the pain of the past that we realize we need a Healer. I'm so thankful that I wasn't too broken for Him. I'm so thankful that he loved me and healed me.

I believe it the cracks and blemsihes in our lives that lets God's grace shine through us to others.
