“Heaven is not here, it’s There. If we were given all we wanted here, our hearts would settle for this world rather than the next. God is forever luring us up and away from this one, wooing us to Himself and His still invisible Kingdom, where we will certainly find what we so keenly long for.” (Elisabeth Elliot)
When I’m discontent, when I long for more, help me remember that it’s simply part of the wooing.
May I not long for the things of this world and settle for its pleasures.
Lure me, call me, Father, to You and Your invisible Kingdom.
May I find what I so keenly long for only in You.
Linking up today with Michelle at Graceful for Hear it on Sunday, Use it on Monday.

amen, sister.
I need this reminder so often.
I have to remind myself of this often when things seem wrong or frustrating in this world: we're not in heaven yet. I need to let that reminder make me long for heaven.
This would be a good entry for my Week in Words meme where we share quotes that have touched us through the week. :-)
discontent dogs me at every turn....thanks for the words.
Any words from Elisabeth Elliot makes me smile. As a teenager I was given her book, Passion and Purity. It had such an impact on my young life. It's still so relevant today - "God is luring us up" - love it! Thank you for sharing this. :)
I absolutely love that quote -- it puts so much in perspective for me. And perhaps that's why I clamor for that ephemeral happiness and contentment, only to grasp but a thread of it here on Earth. Perhaps God is simply giving me a foretaste of everlasting true joy to come?
I love Elizabeth Elliot. What a wonderful way to look at heaven and earth. Glad to have longings for the next world!
I love your "Outnumbered Mom" tagline! It's so true!
Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day! Nice to meet you!!! Awesome blog!
