Confetti is flying for a couple of reasons today. Check them out!
First, the (re)launch of a blog for teachers, called Inspired Teacher.
The founder, Laura Parker, is a former teacher, parent of three, and homeschooling mom. She says you can expect these three things from Inspired Teacher: inspiration for the teacher, character education ideas, and encouraging community. Inspired Teacher is a place for educators of all kinds—elementary, middle, and high school; home, public, and private. You may recognize some of the contributing writers (like Amy, Kendal, and yours truly), too. And there’s a giveaway to get things started, so hop on over.
Second, today is Family Day—a day to eat dinner with your children. If you missed my Family Day post last week, just click here for great ideas for today and beyond.
Third, one of my writing buddies from Kindred Heart Writers was awarded the 2011 ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) Genesis award for Historical Fiction. Drum roll, please, for Johnnie Alexander Donley. You can read about Johnnie's first novel here. I’m so excited for Johnnie; this award represents so much research, dedication, and incredible talent. I’m proud to call Johnnie my friend and thrilled to have her expertise as a critique partner.
Confetti everywhere! Great way to start the week, huh?
Linking up with Jen at Finding Heaven Today for Soli deo Gloria. Click on over and come along with us!

I'm excited about the new teacher blog! I saw it at Amy Sullivan's site last week. I homeschool and need all the encouragement I can get. Hopping over there now ... :)
Laura, thanks for the encouraging words and the confetti you threw my way. And I thank God for seeing to it that our paths crossed!
Congrats on the (re)launch of the blog, too.
I will throw some confetti in your honor today, Laura. YEAH.
Fondly,
Glenda
