What a great week!
It’s been Spring Break for me, and I’ve reveled in sleeping in, writing, reading…I’ve loved it.
I’m linking up today with Susanne at Living to Tell the Story for Friday’s Fave Five, where we recount the favorites of our week.
I’ll have a little trouble narrowing mine down to five this week.
My faves this week:
1. Having the college boy home! It’s been great having him around, and I do love to cook for him. I can tell Dad has really enjoyed the boy, too – good all around.
2. An article to write. I’m excited about an article I’ve been asked to write for a parenting magazine. It’s right up my alley.
3. Some important posts. On Monday, I wrote on something very near and dear to my heart: adoption. It’s nearer and dearer now, as our family is embarking on quite the adventure. My oldest son and sweet daughter-in-law (Aiden’s parents) have been approved for the Waiting Child Program in India. There is plenty of paperwork and there are hurdles ahead (including fundraising), but we are all SO excited. Most of you know I have four sons and one grandson…longing for some pink. And since India devalues its precious little girls so…you can see where this is going. I invite you to visit Jonathan and Kristen on their adoption blog and leave a comment of support and encouragement, if you feel led. Their blog is called Longing for India. Here's a picture of Aiden holding a watercolor of his next sibling's homeland...
4. Steps closer to a project’s completion. I don’t want to say too much, but this project is connected to my writing and Jonathan and Kristen’s adoption fund. More on that later, but I’m excited that we’re closer to seeing it happen.
5. This quote:
“Wisdom is oft times nearer when we stoop than when we soar.” (William Wordsworth)
When we stoop to serve, we find treasures we might not suspect—that’s the beauty of it.
Wishing you spring sunshine today,

Great list! How exciting about getting a grandchild from India! And I'm very glad you enjoyed your spring break and time with your son. :)
So excited for your family. What exciting news.
So fun to have a college student home! We'll get to see our girl at Easter time so I'm really looking forward to that.
How fun to have a little girl around. I had 2 girls and they are so fun. Maybe someday I'll get a grandson!
Hope all turns out well without too many hoops to jump through.
have a great weekend.
oh Laura that is sooo exciting for you and your family about the possible adoption from India.....and a girl!! Aiden is so big now and such a cutie! I can't wait to follow this journey via your posts! I have the 2 girls of course and am thinking maybe SOME day I'll have a son in law! and then grandbabies!! Love the spring pic of the crocuses.....and glad you enjoyed your Spring Break!!
My, how grown up Aiden looks!
Hope your writing project works out as well as the adoption fundraising. I'm hoping with you that your family will be seeing pink!
Love the quote. Serving others always pays off.
What a sweet little boy! Sounds like you have a lot to look forward to
I can't imagine my boys not here all the time. It's strange to think one day they will be doing their own thing. So glad you got to see your oldest. I love mine so much!
How sweet is that picture!! I have thought about adoption since we have no girl and other issues may prevent us from having more. I know it takes lot of prayer and patience.
Love the quote and it's something that I am learning to be quite true.
Have a great weekend!
Sometimes it really is injustice ! People who don't want children get one, others who long for can't. Adoption is an excellent solution when all other means don't work. My little grandson is an "invitro" child, they were very lucky that it worked and that he become such a healthy little boy ! I wish all the best that the procedure gets through quickly and they can take a little girl home!
Glad you had a great spring break, and the writing projects sound great! Hope and pray everything works out well and smoothly for the adoption from India. How fun to finally have some pink! My d-i-l is from India and prefers red, but while this little one is a baby, you can use as much pink as you want. :-)
Glad the college boy got to be home the same week you were.
That quote is so true.
Exciting news on all fronts! I hope you'll point us to the article once it's out!
Wow, you've got some amazing things on the horizon! Adoption is a huge step and I'm sure you are all bathing it in prayer. Congrats on your new writing projects. What fun!
